Kahnawake Gaming Commission
Client Provider Authorizations for online casino, poker and sportsbook operators licensed from Mohawk Territory; it does not give permission to offer games in your country.
My verdict
Kahnawake is one of the oldest online regulators, with a public permit list, annual audits and a named dispute officer. That is better than many light-touch licences. I still count it as standard low-touch, because it is a small regulator that cannot compel a payout.
What it requires from casinos
- Operators must let players set play and deposit limits, including zero.
- Operators must pay winners promptly and treat players fairly.
- Rules of play must be posted in English.
- Owners and operators are vetted, and systems are audited annually by an Approved Agent.
- The logo on a licensed site must link to a Certificate of Good Standing.
What to watch out for
- A complaint may be rejected if you discussed it on a public forum or told the media.
- The Commission facilitates solutions; it does not guarantee payment.
- Complaints already handled by another jurisdiction or organisation can be excluded.
How to check a casino holds this licence
Check the Permit Holders list, and click the Commission logo on the casino, which should open a Certificate of Good Standing.
If you have a dispute
Complain to the casino first, then email the Commission or use its form. It has a full-time Dispute Resolution Officer and tries to facilitate a solution, with no phone submissions.

Self-exclusion
Comprehensive Self-Exclusion: Applies to all Commission-licensed interactive sites, is permanent and irrevocable, and needs a form plus government ID.

Is the Kahnawake licence a real licence?
Yes. The Commission was set up in 1996 under the Kahnawake Gaming Law and has regulated online gaming since its Interactive Gaming Regulations of 8 July 1999.
Can I complain if I posted about the dispute online?
You may lose eligibility. The Commission can decline or discontinue complaints that were discussed on a public forum or shared with the media.
