Strict national regulator
Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection (DCP)
Players in Connecticut. In March 2025 the DCP said only two platforms were licensed for online casino: DraftKings (with Foxwoods) and FanDuel (with Mohegan Sun).
My verdict
Connecticut keeps online casino to two licensed platforms and acts hard on unlicensed ones. That is strong for safety but means little choice. A clean Connecticut licence earns the top Licensing score in my framework.
What it requires from casinos
- Only licensed platforms may accept online casino wagers from Connecticut residents.
- Game suppliers need a DCP licence. It suspended High5Games' licence in March 2025.
- Self-excluded players cannot collect winnings or recover losses from a licensee.
What to watch out for
- There are very few licensed online casinos, and the DCP says funds are recoverable only through licensed platforms.
- Lifetime self-exclusion can never be removed.
If you have a dispute
Contact the operator directly first. If its process does not resolve the issue, file a complaint with the DCP through its complaint center.
Enforcement example: In March 2025 the DCP summarily suspended the licence of High5Games after finding it ran an unlicensed online casino. About 1,100 residents deposited, 911 lost $937,938, and 108 were on the self-exclusion list.
Self-exclusion
Connecticut Gaming Self-Exclusion: Choose 1 year, 5 years or lifetime. While enrolled you cannot collect winnings or recover losses. Lifetime exclusion cannot be removed.
